Aquasport Pools
Pool builder in Friendswood, Texas
Details not confirmed
Family-owned and operated, this Friendswood builder says it has been building custom pools across the greater South Texas area for 51 years. It averages about four weeks from digging to water going in, and its sales and design team is not paid on commission, which it says removes high-pressure selling. Freeform and geometric pools are showcased, along with waterfalls and other water features. Beyond new construction, the company handles pool remodeling and plaster, patio covers and outdoor kitchens. A financing page is available on the site, and customers are educated on the pros and cons of each option.

Licensing and insurance
Licensing in Texas. Texas has no state license for swimming pool contractors, so there is no state register to check a pool builder against. What is licensed is the sub-work: pool plumbing and gas lines must be done by a plumber licensed by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners, and pool electrical by an electrician licensed through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio also require contractor registration with the city before permits are issued.
Aquasport Pools's website is not on record, so we could not check whether the company is licensed or insured. Ask for the plumber's and electrician's license numbers and a certificate of insurance before signing.
