Cactus Pool Designs
Pool builder in Tyler, Texas
Details confirmed
Custom gunite pools are the focus here, designed and built for homeowners in Tyler and across East Texas. The team works from a design-first approach, shaping natural or formal pools and adding spas, in-water loungers, lighting effects, vanishing edges, short-drop waterfalls and adjacent outdoor kitchens or cabana pool houses. After construction, the company keeps clients on with pool cleaning, maintenance and repair, including water feature upkeep. Financing is available through several lending partners, and the site carries a series of pool chemistry articles for owners. The owner-led team draws on decades in the construction and pool service trades and has been building pools in Tyler since 2017.

Licensing and insurance
Licensing in Texas. Texas has no state license for swimming pool contractors, so there is no state register to check a pool builder against. What is licensed is the sub-work: pool plumbing and gas lines must be done by a plumber licensed by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners, and pool electrical by an electrician licensed through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio also require contractor registration with the city before permits are issued.
Cactus Pool Designs's website does not say whether the company is licensed or insured. Ask for the plumber's and electrician's license numbers and a certificate of insurance before signing.
