Windy River Pools
Pool builder in Frisco, Texas
Details not confirmed
Low-chlorine mineral pools are the specialty at Windy River Pools, a small family company owned by a woman and combat veteran. Weekly service in the Frisco and North Texas area uses perlite as filter media and chelated natural minerals to balance the water. The company also provides pool-side training on the products it uses, shares process information for do-it-yourself owners and runs an online store that delivers supplies to the equipment pad. It operates as a service and supply business rather than a builder.

Licensing and insurance
Licensing in Texas. Texas has no state license for swimming pool contractors, so there is no state register to check a pool builder against. What is licensed is the sub-work: pool plumbing and gas lines must be done by a plumber licensed by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners, and pool electrical by an electrician licensed through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio also require contractor registration with the city before permits are issued.
Windy River Pools's website is not on record, so we could not check whether the company is licensed or insured. Ask for the plumber's and electrician's license numbers and a certificate of insurance before signing.
