Tropix Pools & Outdoor Living
Pool builder in Prosper, Texas
Details confirmed
Weekly service routes sit alongside full construction at this Plano, McKinney, Frisco and Prosper-area company, which has operated since 1998. Maintenance, repairs, remodels and new pools are handled by one team, with licensed technicians diagnosing and replacing pumps, filters, heaters and other equipment. Remodel work covers plaster, tile and coping, while new projects can include waterfalls, fountains, sprayers, intricate decking, additional spas, pavilions, pergolas, turf and outdoor kitchens. Pools are designed in 3D so clients can see the result before construction starts. Typical build timelines are described as ranging from a few weeks for resurfacing to several months for larger outdoor living projects. Leak detection, inspections, covers, safety fences and commercial pool services are also listed.

Licensing and insurance
Licensing in Texas. Texas has no state license for swimming pool contractors, so there is no state register to check a pool builder against. What is licensed is the sub-work: pool plumbing and gas lines must be done by a plumber licensed by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners, and pool electrical by an electrician licensed through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio also require contractor registration with the city before permits are issued.
Tropix Pools & Outdoor Living's website states that the company is licensed or insured; we recorded the claim, not a verification. Ask for the plumber's and electrician's license numbers and a certificate of insurance before signing.
